Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003284
A component of a vehicle's evaporative emission control (EVAP) system, called a leak detection pump, that tests the integrity of the fuel system. The LDP generates a slight positive pressure within the fuel tank and vapor lines when the vehicle is off. The engine control module monitors the system's ability to hold this pressure, flagging a diagnostic trouble code if a leak is detected.
