Microhybrid

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003642

A type of vehicle that incorporates a basic hybrid system, primarily featuring an enhanced starter-generator and a start-stop system to improve fuel efficiency. Unlike full hybrids, microhybrids cannot propel the vehicle using electric power alone. This system typically recovers energy during braking and uses it to restart the engine quickly when the vehicle is stationary, reducing idle emissions.
