Monument

A permanent or semi-permanent physical marker placed in the ground to designate a survey point, such as a property corner, boundary line intersection, or control point. These can be iron rods, concrete posts, stone markers, or other durable objects. Monuments provide lasting evidence of survey positions for future reference.
