Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003750
A type of sliding or tilting glass panel in a vehicle's roof that allows light and air to enter the cabin. The panel is opaque or tinted and is operated manually or electrically, retracting into the roof structure or tilting upwards. While the term is sometimes used interchangeably with sunroof, a sunroof was originally an opaque metal panel, whereas a moonroof is specifically made of glass.
