Describing a material, product, or component that has a significantly smaller width compared to its length or to standard dimensions for its category. This characteristic is often intentional for specific applications where space constraints or functional requirements dictate a reduced lateral extent. For example, narrow fabrics are those with a width of 12 inches or less, such as ribbons or webbing.
