Neatline
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003863
A line drawn on a construction plan to show the exact finished outline of a structure or excavation, disregarding minor irregularities in the actual material. In cartography and drafting the word instead names the inner border line of a map or drawing, which separates the depicted area from the margin. On a printed sheet the neatline lies inside the trimmed edge, so the margin falls between them.
