The stiff, forward-projecting brim on the front of a cap or hat, designed to shade the eyes from the sun. Also known as a visor, it is a defining feature of styles like the baseball cap. The peak is constructed from a rigid inner material, such as plastic or buckram, which is then covered with the same fabric as the rest of the cap.
