Picoampere

A unit of electrical current equal to one-trillionth (10⁻¹²) of an ampere. The picoampere is a standard SI prefixed unit used to quantify extremely small electrical flows in sensitive electronic components and scientific apparatus. Measurements in this range are required for characterizing semiconductor leakage currents or photodiode dark currents and are performed with instruments called electrometers or source measure units.
