Picometre

A unit of length equal to one trillionth (10^-12) of a meter. This extremely small distance measurement is used for atomic and subatomic scales, such as bond lengths within molecules or the size of atomic nuclei. X-ray crystallography and electron microscopy operate at picometer resolutions.
