Raise steam

To heat water in a boiler to generate steam, typically in a steam locomotive or other steam-powered machinery, until it reaches the required operating pressure. This process involves firing the boiler with fuel, such as coal or oil, and monitoring the pressure gauge. It is a preparatory step before a steam engine can begin operation.
