Range extender
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004694
A small internal combustion engine included in an electric vehicle (EV) that does not directly power the wheels but generates electricity to charge the battery when it runs low. This system allows the EV to travel further than its battery-only range, mitigating range anxiety. The engine typically operates at its most efficient RPM to maximize fuel economy.
