Rebarred

Describing concrete that has been reinforced with steel reinforcing bars, commonly known as rebar, to enhance its tensile strength. Concrete is strong in compression but weak in tension, so rebar is embedded within it to resist pulling forces and prevent cracking. The placement and size of rebar are specified by structural engineers.
