Rebore

The process of machining an engine cylinder to a larger diameter to remove wear, damage, or to accommodate oversized pistons. This procedure restores the cylinder's roundness and proper clearance for new piston rings, extending the life of an engine block. After a rebore, new pistons and rings of a larger size must be installed.
