Rover
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004964
A continuous, slightly twisted strand of textile fibers, representing an intermediate stage between sliver and yarn. It is produced by drawing out and attenuating a sliver on a roving frame, which also imparts a small amount of twist to give it the necessary strength for handling. The rover is then wound onto a bobbin, ready for the final spinning process that will convert it into yarn.
