Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005419
To spiral a thin line around a thicker rope, laying it in the grooves between the rope's strands, a treatment also called worming. The wound line fills the lay of the rope and prepares it for parcelling and serving. Snaking differs from seizing, which binds two ropes or parts together with turns of small stuff.
