Spanishing

A printing process in which ink is deposited on the bottoms and sides of depressions formed in a material, usually plastic. The recessed areas of a molded or embossed part are colored by this process, so the pattern or lettering stands out from the surrounding surface. It is a decoration method for manufactured plastic articles and is distinct from printing on a flat surface.
