Steiner point
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005643
A point generated during the construction of a Steiner tree, which is a minimal-length network connecting a given set of terminal points. Steiner points are additional vertices not present in the original set that are introduced to shorten the total length of the connecting network. In electronic design automation, this concept is applied to route wires on a printed circuit board or integrated circuit, minimizing total wire length and signal delay between connected components.
