Throttle Body Injection: A type of fuel injection system where one or two fuel injectors are mounted in a central throttle body, similar to a carburetor. Fuel is sprayed into the intake manifold upstream of the intake runners, mixing with air before entering the cylinders. TBI systems were a transitional technology between carburetors and multi-port fuel injection.
