GDI
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002541
An abbreviation for Gasoline Direct Injection, an engine technology where fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder, rather than into the intake manifold. This allows for more precise fuel delivery and a higher compression ratio, leading to improved fuel efficiency and increased power output. GDI engines often operate at higher fuel pressures than port-injected engines.
