Tedder
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005913
A piece of agricultural machinery used to aerate or 'wuffle' hay after it has been cut. It uses rotating tines to lift and spread the mown crop, exposing it to air and sunlight to speed up the drying process before it is baled or collected as silage. A tedder is distinct from a hay rake, which gathers the dried hay into windrows for collection, whereas a tedder spreads it out.
