Tender cab

A locomotive cab design where the rear of the cab is open to the front of the tender, providing a continuous, protected workspace for the crew. This arrangement offers better weather protection compared to a conventional cab with a separate rear wall and fall plate. Tender cabs are a feature of some larger steam locomotives designed for long-distance mainline service.
