Thrummed

Describing a fabric or knitted item into which short lengths of yarn or roving have been worked to create a thick, fleecy pile on one side for insulation and padding. In this technique, the tufts, called thrums, are pulled through the base material during its construction, securing them in place. Thrummed mittens are a traditional example, providing extra warmth with an internal woolly layer.
