Rug hooking

A craft in which loops of yarn or fabric strips are pulled through a woven fabric base, such as burlap or linen, to create a textured pile surface. A specialized hook tool is used to draw the material from the underside to the top, forming dense loops that create patterns and images. This technique is used to make decorative rugs, wall hangings, and other textile art.
