Traction

The adhesive friction between a drive wheel or track and the surface it moves upon, which enables a vehicle to propel itself and maintain control. It is the force that resists slippage and allows for acceleration, braking, and steering. Factors such as tire design, road surface condition, and vehicle weight influence the amount of available traction.
