Triangle

A track arrangement forming a triangular shape, used to turn a locomotive or an entire train around without the need for a turntable. Trains enter one leg of the triangle, reverse onto another, and then proceed forward on the third leg, effectively changing direction. This configuration is common in yards and at the ends of branch lines.
