Triangulateration

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006176

A hybrid surveying method that combines principles of both triangulation and trilateration to establish the coordinates of points within a network. This technique involves measuring a combination of angles and distances to create a more constrained and accurate geodetic network than using either method alone. Modern survey adjustments, such as the least squares method, are well-suited for processing the mixed observations of angles and distances inherent in triangulateration.
