Close

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001169

The act of completing a survey traverse or level loop by returning to the starting point or connecting to another known control point. A successful close indicates that the sum of the measured angles and distances meets the required precision standards, allowing for the calculation of closure errors. The closure error is then distributed among the measurements to adjust the survey.
