Western Union splice

A method of joining two electrical conductors by twisting them together tightly, creating a mechanically strong and electrically conductive connection without soldering. This technique involves stripping insulation from the wire ends, crossing them, and then wrapping each end around the other wire. It provides a secure joint that resists pulling forces.
