Wet heater
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006566
A type of torpedo engine in which the combustion chamber receives a spray of water in addition to fuel and compressed air or oxygen. The water cools the combustion and turns to steam, which adds to the gas driving the engine and raises its power output. It contrasts with the dry heater, which burns fuel and air without injected water.
