Woof

The crosswise yarn in woven cloth, running at right angles to the warp and carried through the shed by a shuttle or other weft inserter. Woof is a synonym of weft, and each single crossing of the shed is called a pick. The number of picks per inch, together with the warp sett, sets the density of the cloth.
