Take up
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005862
The process in weaving where the woven fabric is collected onto a cloth beam as it is produced, while simultaneously unwinding warp yarns from the warp beam. This coordinated movement maintains consistent tension on the warp threads and controls the density of the weave. The rate of take-up is adjusted to achieve the desired picks per inch in the finished textile.
