Sley

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005360

The number of warp threads per inch in a woven fabric, a key determinant of the fabric's density and texture. This count is established during the weaving process by the reed, which spaces the warp yarns. A higher sley count results in a denser, often stronger fabric, while a lower count produces a more open weave.
