Wrecking ball

A heavy steel ball, typically weighing several tons, suspended from a crane and swung to demolish buildings or other large structures. The kinetic energy of the impact breaks apart concrete, brick, and other construction materials. This method is effective for large-scale demolition but has largely been replaced by hydraulic excavators with specialized attachments.
