Adhesion contract
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-000327
A standardized contract drafted by one party and presented to another on a "take it or leave it" basis, with little or no opportunity for negotiation. The weaker party, often a consumer, must accept the terms as written or reject the contract entirely. Courts sometimes scrutinize these contracts for unconscionable clauses, particularly in insurance policies where the insurer dictates the terms.
