Air quality control region

A geographical area designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the purpose of managing and monitoring air pollution. These regions are established based on meteorological, topographical, and jurisdictional considerations to effectively implement air quality standards. Each region is responsible for developing and executing plans to achieve and maintain national ambient air quality standards.
