Basis point(s)
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-000536
A standard unit of measure for interest rates and other percentages in finance, representing one-hundredth of one percent (0.01%). The term avoids the ambiguity of whether a change in an interest rate is absolute or relative. For example, an increase from 2% to 3% is a change of 100 basis points, not a one percent change.
