Break point

A predetermined threshold or level at which a change occurs in the calculation of premiums, commissions, or other financial terms in an insurance contract or program. For example, a break point might trigger a lower premium rate for coverage exceeding a certain amount, or a higher commission percentage for sales above a specific volume. These points are negotiated to incentivize larger transactions or volumes.
