Claims-made and reported policy

An insurance policy that covers claims arising from incidents that occur and are first reported to the insurer during the policy period. Both conditions, the occurrence of the claim and its reporting, must fall within the policy's effective dates. This type of policy is common for professional liability and directors and officers (D&O) insurance.
