Coded excess
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-003610
A method of pricing excess of loss reinsurance in which the reinsurer charges a separate rate for each successive layer of the underlying policy limits instead of one averaged rate across the whole range. Each layer's premium reflects the loss exposure at that level, which gives a closer match between price and risk than a blended rate does.
