Delay clause

A clause in a marine cargo insurance policy under which the insurer is not liable for loss, damage, or deterioration caused by delay, including loss of market, even when the delay itself results from an insured peril. Cargo cover therefore responds to physical loss of the goods but not to the lateness of their arrival.
