Dose response
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-003633
The relationship between the magnitude of exposure to a chemical or physical agent and the extent of the resulting health effect in an organism or population. Risk assessors and toxicologists use this principle to quantify the potential for harm from workplace or environmental hazards, such as asbestos or radiation. A dose-response curve graphically represents this relationship, which is foundational for establishing regulatory standards and occupational exposure limits.
