Dramshop liability

The legal responsibility of establishments that serve alcoholic beverages for injuries or damages caused by intoxicated patrons. This liability extends to third parties harmed by the intoxicated individual, as well as to the patron themselves in some jurisdictions. Laws vary by state, but generally hold the establishment accountable for serving alcohol to visibly intoxicated persons or minors.
