Friable asbestos

Asbestos-containing material that, when dry, can be crumbled, pulverized, or reduced to powder by hand pressure. This characteristic allows asbestos fibers to be easily released into the air, posing a health hazard. Regulations such as those from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) govern its handling and removal.
