Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 GINA

A federal law that prohibits discrimination based on genetic information in health insurance and employment. It prevents health insurers from using genetic information to determine eligibility or set premiums, and employers from using it in hiring, firing, or promotion decisions. GINA protects individuals from the misuse of their genetic data.
