Healing plateau

A stage in recovery from an injury or illness where further medical improvement is unlikely or has significantly slowed, despite continued treatment. This concept is relevant in workers' compensation and disability claims for determining the extent of permanent impairment. Once a healing plateau is reached, the focus shifts from active treatment to managing residual conditions.
