Liability limits

The maximum amount an insurance policy will pay for covered losses under a specific liability coverage. These limits are typically expressed as a per-occurrence amount, a per-person amount, or an aggregate amount for all claims within a policy period. Exceeding these limits leaves the insured responsible for the remaining damages.
