Multiemployer pension and benefit plans

Retirement or welfare benefit plans maintained under one or more collective bargaining agreements to which more than one employer is required to contribute. These plans, also known as Taft-Hartley plans, allow workers in industries with transient employment, such as construction or trucking, to accumulate benefits from different employers. The plans are governed by a joint board of trustees with equal representation from labor and management, as mandated by the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947.
