Occupational accident insurance

A form of coverage providing benefits for medical expenses, disability, or death resulting from an accident that occurs while an employee is on the job. It is distinct from workers' compensation, which is a state-mandated, no-fault system covering a broader set of work-related injuries and illnesses. Occupational accident insurance is frequently purchased by companies with independent contractors who are not covered by state workers' compensation laws.
