Per cause maximum limit

A restriction on the total amount an insurer will pay for all claims arising from a single cause or event, regardless of the number of individual claims or claimants. This limit applies across all affected policies or insured parties that are impacted by the same originating incident. It prevents an aggregation of losses from a single root cause from exceeding a predetermined cap for the insurer.
