Privileged communication

Confidential discussions between certain individuals in a protected relationship, such as attorney-client or doctor-patient, that cannot be disclosed in court without the consent of the privilege holder. In insurance, this concept can apply to communications between an insured and their legal counsel regarding a claim. It aims to foster open and honest communication within these relationships.
